The Y5(10)W-15 (W-type) and Y5(10)C-15 (C-type) are 15kV gapless metal-oxide surge arresters for distribution transformer and overhead line protection. Both models use high-quality zinc oxide varistors to rapidly shunt lightning and switching surges to ground, limiting residual voltages to 45kV and 38.5kV respectively. With a maximum continuous operating voltage of 12.7kV and high current withstand of 65kA/100kA, they suit moderate to heavy lightning regions.
